Icona Pop
Swedish duo Icona Pop followed up the success of ‘I Love It’ with their 2013 single ‘Girlfriend,’ which turned the hook from Jay-Z and Beyonce’s ‘’03 Bonnie & Clyde’ into an anthemic summer party song. “All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend,” Icona Pop sing cheerfully, repeating the line first heard in a classic song by Tupac Shakur. The dance-pop tune is from Icona Pop’s still-untitled forthcoming album, which will mark the pair's first release in the U.S.

Zedd Feat. Foxes
One of PopCrush’s Artists to Watch in 2013, Zedd didn’t need much time to make an impact this year. He performed a quiet rendition of ‘Clarity’ with Foxes on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' on Jan. 3, then watched as radio began playing the uptempo version of the track, helping it soar all the way to No. 1 on the Dance/Club Play chart. Avicii lit up dance floors everywhere last year with 'Levels' and returned in 2013 with 'Wake Me Up,' a creative track driven by acoustic guitar, a rollicking, foot-stomping beat and the soulful vocals of R&B singer Aloe Blacc. If not for the bouncy synth rhythms, we'd have no idea the song was created by an EDM artist. Blacc gets serious with the hook, "So wake me up when it’s all over / When I’m wiser and I’m older / All this time I was finding myself / And I didn’t know I was lost.” 'Wake Me Up' is the first single from Avicii's next album, '#TRUE.'

Daft Punk’s funky disco-tinged track ‘Get Lucky’ is easily the biggest chart hit among this bunch, and it stands out as an exception on our list of the Top 10 EDM Songs of 2013 because it emphasizes real instruments rather than electronic sounds. The French duo brought in a number of respected live musicians to create the music and R&B star Pharrell Williams to lay down the vocals. ‘Get Lucky’ danced its way all the way to No. 3, becoming Daft Punk’s highest-charting single ever.
